Mary Caroselli is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist deeply committed to the well-being of Delaware families.
With specialized expertise in child development, family therapy, sexuality and reproductive health, social justice, and trauma care, she creates a warm, holistic therapeutic space for children of all ages and the parents supporting them. Mary is particularly passionate about partnering with parents who are struggling with their kids or teens, walking alongside families as they navigate everything from separation anxiety and attachment challenges to divorce, blended family dynamics, postpartum experiences, and end-of-life support.
Her therapeutic approach is strengths-based, solution-focused, and humanistic, meaning she focuses on clients' inherent strengths and resources, helps them find practical solutions to their challenges, and views each person holistically and compassionately. Clients can expect to have their abilities and resources emphasized, working collaboratively with Mary to identify and achieve their goals, often within a short-term framework. Her humanistic foundation values the whole person, their experiences, and their capacity for self-growth and fulfillment.
Mary draws from a wide range of evidence-based and relational modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Family Systems Therapy, attachment-based approaches, and trauma-informed care. This integrative toolkit allows her to meet each client where they are and tailor therapy to the developmental, relational, and emotional realities of their lives.
Mary holds a Bachelor's degree from Albright College, a Master's degree from Thomas Jefferson University, and is a doctoral candidate at Virginia Tech. Her extensive career spans teaching, private practice, advocacy, and agency roles. Her passion for advancing the field is evident in her role as Vice President of the Delaware Board of Mental Health, where she works to promote the growth and development of Marriage and Family Therapy across the state.
Outside the therapy room, Mary enjoys gardening, spending time outdoors with her family and pets, and supporting local animal rescue efforts. Her holistic and compassionate approach to therapy, paired with her deep roots in the Delaware community, makes her a trusted resource for families seeking support and guidance.
Mary's combined background in clinical practice, teaching, advocacy, and doctoral-level research gives her a uniquely layered understanding of how families grow and heal across every stage of life.
Her leadership on the Delaware Board of Mental Health reflects a lifelong commitment to elevating the field of Marriage and Family Therapy and expanding access to compassionate, family-centered care.
Mary's strengths-based, humanistic approach helps families recognize the resilience already within them, empowering them to move toward their goals with clarity and confidence.
"Every family carries strengths and resources within them, often more than they realize. My work is to help children, parents, and partners see those strengths clearly, and to walk alongside them as they build the lives and relationships they want."
