Your Right To A Good Faith Estimate
Last updated March 4, 2026
At Resilient Kids Child & Family Therapy, we believe that transparency and trust go hand in hand. Understanding the cost of therapy services should never feel overwhelming or confusing. Under the No Surprises Act (effective January 1, 2022), you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your therapy services will cost.
WHAT IS A GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE?
A Good Faith Estimate is a written document that outlines the expected cost of the therapy services we provide. It includes information such as the type of service, the anticipated number of sessions, the cost per session, and the total estimated charges over a defined period of time. This estimate helps you plan for the financial side of care so you can focus on what matters most: your family's well-being.
WHO IS ENTITLED TO A GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE?
Under federal law, healthcare providers are required to give a Good Faith Estimate to individuals who are:
Uninsured (not enrolled in a health plan)
Self-pay (choosing not to use their insurance for services)
If you have insurance but choose to pay out of pocket for therapy, you are still entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY ESTIMATE?
You can request a Good Faith Estimate at any time. In addition, we will provide one in the following situations:
When you schedule a service: If your appointment is scheduled at least three business days in advance, we will provide the estimate within one business day of scheduling.
When you request an estimate: If you ask for an estimate without scheduling, we will provide one within three business days of your request.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE ESTIMATE?
Your Good Faith Estimate will include:
A description of the therapy services being offered
The expected charges for each service
The anticipated number and frequency of sessions
The name and National Provider Identifier (NPI) of your therapist
The diagnosis code (if applicable at the time of the estimate)
Important disclaimers about the nature of the estimate
IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
A Good Faith Estimate is not a contract. Receiving an estimate does not require you to receive services from Resilient Kids Child & Family Therapy.
The actual cost of your care may differ from the estimate. Every person's therapeutic journey is unique, and treatment needs may change over time. If your treatment plan changes significantly, we will provide you with an updated Good Faith Estimate.
Your therapist may recommend additional services as part of your care that are not included in the initial estimate. These would be discussed with you and scheduled separately.
If the final bill for your services exceeds your Good Faith Estimate by $400 or more, you have the right to dispute the charges through a federal patient-provider dispute resolution process. This process will not affect the quality of the care you receive from us.
