Lezley Sexton is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health who brings two decades of clinical experience to her work with adults and teens navigating life's challenges.

With specialized expertise in anxiety, depression, PTSD, and ADHD, she creates a grounded, supportive therapeutic space where clients can develop a deeper understanding of their mental health and build the skills they need to live life to its fullest. Lezley is particularly passionate about working with adults and teens who are going through difficult seasons, as well as first responders and military members who face unique pressures around work-life balance, stress, and the emotional demands of their service.

Her therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and reality-based therapy. CBT provides clients with practical tools for identifying and shifting the thought patterns that fuel anxiety, depression, and stress. Motivational Interviewing helps clients work through ambivalence and find their own reasons for change, while mindfulness builds present-moment awareness and emotional regulation. Her use of reality-based therapy keeps the work grounded and actionable, helping clients set clear goals and develop concrete strategies for meeting them. This combination gives clients both the insight to understand what's happening and the practical skills to do something about it.

With a Master's degree in Clinical Counseling, national board certification (NBCC), and certification as a case manager (CCM), Lezley brings a well-credentialed, multifaceted foundation to her practice. Her 20 years of experience providing counseling in Delaware have taken her through a wide variety of treatment settings, client populations, ages, and presenting concerns. That range of experience is one of her greatest strengths. It means she's seen a lot, adapted to a lot, and developed the kind of clinical intuition that only comes from years of showing up for people across all walks of life.

Outside the therapy room, Lezley enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and trying new things. She's a runner, a home cook, and a music lover, all pursuits that reflect her belief in staying active, staying curious, and finding joy in the everyday. That same energy carries into her work, where her ability to connect with people and build genuine rapport is the foundation for everything she does.

  • Lezley's 20 years of counseling experience across a wide variety of settings and populations gives her an adaptability and clinical depth that allows her to meet clients wherever they are, regardless of age, background, or the complexity of what they're facing.

  • Her ability to build strong, authentic rapport quickly is the cornerstone of her therapeutic style. Lezley understands that the relationship itself is where the real work begins, and she invests in that connection from the very first session.

  • Her experience working with first responders and military members gives her a particular understanding of the mental health challenges that come with high-stress, service-oriented careers, including trauma, burnout, and the difficulty of asking for help in cultures that often discourage it.

"I have always loved helping people and seeing my clients reach their goals. My hope for my clients is to see them become the version of themselves they want to be in a way that is meaningful and sustainable."
