Chris Park is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who brings a remarkably well-rounded clinical perspective to his work with adolescents and adults.

With specialized expertise in depression, anxiety, grief, and substance use, he creates a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe and supported as they work toward meaningful, lasting change. Chris is particularly passionate about working with clients ages 12 and up who are navigating mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, and relationship challenges. His breadth of experience across clinical, supervisory, and systems-level roles gives him a depth of understanding that few therapists can match.

His therapeutic approach is intentionally integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness, Bowen family therapy, narrative therapy, the Gottman Method, and schema therapy. Rather than relying on a single framework, Chris draws on individual, family systems, attachment, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, motivational, and interpersonal techniques to craft an approach that fits each client's unique needs and circumstances. This flexibility allows him to meet clients where they are, whether they're processing grief, working through a substance use challenge, navigating a relationship crisis, or managing the weight of a mood disorder, and tailor the work to what will be most effective for them.

With dual Master's degrees in Social Work and Human Sexuality, along with specialized training in CBT, MI, mindfulness, and narrative therapy, Chris brings an exceptionally broad clinical foundation to his practice. His career spans direct client-facing work in inpatient psychiatric settings, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams, and substance use and co-occurring disorder programs. He also brings over 11 years of supervisory and leadership experience, as well as significant work in quality assurance, regulatory oversight of Delaware's mental health and substance use providers, and care coordination through managed care. This combination of frontline clinical work, systems-level knowledge, and leadership gives him a uniquely informed perspective on how to support clients effectively across the full continuum of care.

Outside the therapy room, Chris is a self-described foodie with an adventurous palate who loves cooking, hosting dinner parties, and exploring a wide range of cuisines. He's an avid traveler who takes at least four trips a year, domestically and abroad, with a bucket list goal of visiting every continent. In recent years, he's become a dedicated plant dad, tending to a growing collection of orchids, succulents, cacti, and tropical plants. Chris also practices yoga for both fitness and meditation, and has explored many styles of ballroom dancing, including waltz, rumba, tango, foxtrot, swing, salsa, merengue, and bachata. His rich cultural heritage, with German roots traced to Baden-Wurttemberg in the 1600s and Korean and Chinese ancestry through family who immigrated to Hawaii when it was still a sovereign nation, informs his deep appreciation for diverse perspectives and experiences.

  • Chris's career, spanning direct clinical work, inpatient psychiatry, ACT teams, substance use treatment, quality assurance, managed care, and over a decade of leadership, gives him a panoramic understanding of the mental health system that directly benefits the clients he serves.

  • His integrative therapeutic approach draws from multiple theoretical orientations, including individual, family systems, attachment, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and motivational frameworks, allowing him to craft truly personalized treatment rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.

  • Chris brings specialized expertise in co-occurring disorders, substance use, and LGBTQ+ affirming care, making him a strong fit for clients navigating complex, overlapping challenges who need a therapist with both the clinical range and the cultural sensitivity to hold it all.

"My goal is to help my clients understand their problems and develop ways to address their problems so they can feel happier, healthier, and supported in achieving their goals."
