Amanda Edge is a Licensed Associate Counselor of Mental Health who brings a down-to-earth, genuine presence to her work with children, families, and adults of all ages.
With specialized expertise in anxiety, parenting skills, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), she creates a therapeutic space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and connected from the very first session. Amanda is particularly passionate about supporting young children and their caregivers through PCIT, a structured, evidence-based approach that strengthens the parent-child relationship and builds positive behavior patterns in real time. She also loves working with older children, teens, and adults, bringing the same warmth and authenticity to every client she sees.
Her therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), along with trauma-informed principles from her training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). CBT helps clients of all ages identify and shift the thought patterns that fuel anxiety, low mood, and self-doubt, while PCIT offers caregivers of children under six a coached, hands-on experience that transforms the parent-child dynamic in real time. In PCIT sessions, Amanda guides parents through an earpiece while they interact with their child, helping them build skills that strengthen connection, increase cooperation, and reduce challenging behaviors. It's one of the most effective interventions available for young children, and Amanda's skill with it is a standout part of her practice.
With a Master's degree in Education and specialized training in PCIT, TF-CBT, and clinical mental health counseling, Amanda brings a well-rounded foundation that spans both educational and clinical settings. Her background working in schools gives her valuable insight into the academic, social, and behavioral challenges children face in the classroom, and allows her to support families navigating school-related stress, IEP processes, and the day-to-day struggles that can affect a child's confidence and performance. This combination of school-based experience and clinical training means she understands children's lives from multiple angles, not just what happens in the therapy room.
Outside the therapy room, Amanda is a mom of three who knows firsthand that parenting is both one of the most rewarding and most challenging things a person can do. She and her family love glamping adventures in their family RV, trading screens for campfires and making memories on the road. That spirit of adventure and connection carries into her work, where she approaches every client relationship with curiosity, humor, and the belief that everyone is capable of hard things.
Amanda's specialized PCIT training makes her one of the practice's go-to therapists for young children and their caregivers, offering a live-coached, evidence-based approach that creates immediate, tangible shifts in the parent-child relationship.
Her background in schools provides a layer of insight that most therapists don't have, allowing her to support families with academic struggles, school-related anxiety, and behavioral challenges in educational settings with practical, informed guidance.
Amanda's approachable, down-to-earth style puts clients at ease quickly, creating the kind of genuine therapeutic connection where people feel safe enough to do the real work of growth and change.
"I do this work because I believe every child and family deserves a space where they feel truly seen, heard, and understood. As a mental health therapist, I'm honored to walk alongside my clients as they build the tools, confidence, and resilience they need to navigate life's challenges. My hope is that through our work together, they gain not only coping skills, but also a deeper sense of self-trust, self-acceptance, and the belief that they are capable of hard things."
